Senior portrait sessions are an investment in commemorating this significant achievement. Aaron Watson Photography offers a range of options from individually tailored sessions, to spokesmodel programs and Portrait days. As a full-service studio, we also provide a variety of keepsakes, including custom albums and beautifully crafted wall portraits. Yes, we offer portrait days and group rates! This is perfect for a large group of friends, or even an entire sorority, fraternity or school. We are able to accommodate groups from a few people to over a thousand.
Be sure to book your Senior Portrait session as soon as possible to ensure availability and to secure your preferred date and time.
For High School Seniors the best time for senior portraits is during the summer between your Junior and Senior year, for the most flexibility in timing. When school starts back in late summer, your availability may be more limited due to school and sports schedules. Additionally, most Yearbooks have a fall submission deadline.
For UVA graduates the best dates are late March into April. Late April and early May are peak dates, so expect larger crowds of students on the lawn for graduation pictures. Sessions typically take place around 7 or 8am in the morning, and 6 or 7pm in the evening.
Senior sessions are designed to perfectly capture your style and personality, typically lasting about 1 hour for an individual session. Longer sessions are available for groups. This duration is carefully planned to allow for a diverse range of poses and the opportunity for an outfit change. During your consultation, Aaron will be happy to provide tips and advice on outfit planning for your session.
A few days to a week after your portrait session, you’ll meet with Aaron (either in person at our home studio in Charlottesville, VA or virtually via Zoom) for your image reveal.
During this personalized session, you’ll view a curated selection of professionally edited images and work directly with Aaron to select and order your portrait pieces. This collaborative process ensures your artwork aligns beautifully with your vision and home decor.
After your Portrait Design and Ordering Appointment, production for portraits and albums typically takes 4–6 weeks. If you’re working with a specific deadline for a holiday or special occasion, please let us know—expedited options may be available.
For Portrait Days:Images will be available for viewing within a few days to a week after your session. Aaron will provide additional information tailored to your specific situation.

Program Requirements
To be part of the AWP Senior Rep Program, selected seniors must agree to the following:
- Book a senior session with AWP
- Use AWP as their exclusive senior photographer
- Not promote or represent another senior photographer during the program
- Follow AWP on social media and accept a follow back
- Share at least one Instagram post promoting their session and collaborate with AWP on that post
- Accept collaboration on at least one Instagram post created by AWP
- Send a minimum of 5 friends a $100 senior session gift through the AWP referral portal
These requirements are in place to make the program rewarding, organized, and beneficial for everyone involved.

We know parents want clarity before committing to anything.
The AWP Senior Rep Program is intended to give seniors a fun, confidence-building experience while also providing real value to families.
Parents love this program because it includes:

- the opportunity for their senior to earn rewards through referrals
This program works especially well for seniors who are excited to participate, comfortable sharing on social media, and motivated to invite friends to book their own sessions.
Limited Availability
To keep the program special and avoid over-representation, AWP plans to accept up to 2 senior reps per school.That means spots are very limited.Once a school has filled its rep openings, additional applicants from that school may be placed on a waitlist or encouraged to book a regular senior session instead.
Who Should Apply?
You may be a great fit for the AWP Senior Rep Program if you are:
- a current high school junior becoming a senior
- excited about a fun, styled senior photography experience
- active on Instagram
- comfortable sharing your photos and tagging AWP
- connected with friends who may also be looking for senior photos
- ready to represent AWP throughout the summer
Step One
Tape a letter size (8.5" x 11") piece of paper on the wall where you'd like your portraits. Tip: Try to include furniture, windows, doorways, and the floor/ceiling in the area to provide a point of size reference for us. In absence of a piece of paper, you may also provide a measurement of ceiling height or width of the wall space.
Step Two
Take a picture of the wall with a smartphone or tablet from a comfortable viewing distance. Take the photo straight-on, not at an angle, so that images are usable in our software.

Portrait Photography FAQ
Yes. All senior reps must officially sign up for a senior session with AWP to participate in the program.
Rep sessions will take place in May and June. This gives reps time to receive and share their images during the summer, when other seniors are starting to look for photographers.
No. Senior reps must agree to use AWP as their exclusive senior photographer and may not promote another photographer during the program.
We plan to accept only a limited number of reps, with up to 2 reps per school.
Each rep will send at least 5 friends a $100 session gift using the AWP referral portal. If a referred friend books before October 1, the rep earns $100.
