With over 18 years of experience, Aaron along with his wife Lisa and the wonderful AWP team enjoy photographing weddings, family portraits, senior portraits and commercial work in Charlottesville, Virginia and worldwide. Their unique combination of storytelling and lifestyle photography captures the emotion, personality, and beauty that become timeless photographs displayed in the homes of their clients.

Aaron was honored by the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) as one of the Top 50 Wedding Photographers worldwide, he has been voted Best of Zola, Best of the Knot, honored by Virginia Living as a Top Wedding Vendor, and received the Couples Choice Award from Wedding Wire multiple years running.

About Aaron Watson
Aaron Watson began his professional photography career in 2004 and founded Aaron Watson Photography in 2007. Since then he has photographed over 500 weddings, hundreds of families, and received multiple awards and honors. On June 11, 2017 Aaron married his best friend and greatest supporter, Lisa. They, along with their sons Hunter & Alexander, and dog Duke, love calling Charlottesville home and being active in the community!
Fun Facts About Aaron
My favorite sports teams: The Red Sox & Patriots due to my family’s New England roots.
Ideal vacation: Traveling to Hawaii or Switzerland! Lisa and I were engaged in Hawaii and had our honeymoon in Switzerland, and both places were stunning. I would love to return to both places one day!
Favorite activities: Horseback riding, skiing, traveling, and any time spent with the kids!
About Lisa Watson
Lisa grew up on a small farm in New Jersey, surrounded by horse country. Shortly after high school, Lisa moved to Virginia where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Marketing as well as her Master’s Degree in Teaching from Mary Baldwin College. After college, Lisa relocated to the Charlottesville area, which she has called home for the past 17+ years. Aaron and Lisa started dating after being introduced by mutual friends in the wedding industry, and were married on June 11, 2017 in Charlottesville, Va! Lisa has a passion for hiking, photography, squash, and of course raising two wonderful boys, Hunter & Alexander!
Fun Facts About Lisa
Childhood Dream: I thought I was going to be a WNBA star, and went to Duke basketball camp when I was in 8th grade.
Life Goals: I am an avid hiker, and my goal is to visit every national park in the US!
Little known fact: My love of running started when I moved to Charlottesville in 2005. I have run two half marathons, two 10-milers, and a bunch on 10k’s (all in VA).
