Pippin Hill Vineyards Indian Fusion Wedding Photographer

We couldn’t have been more thrilled to have been Susan & Suraj’s Pippin Hill Vineyards Indian fusion wedding photographer for their summer wedding! Susan and Suraj both work in the medical field at the University of Virginia and love the beautiful scenery that Charlottesville has to offer. Their ceremony was an East-West fusion wedding of Indian and American culture. Their Pippin Hill Farm and Vinaryds wedding was rustic and elegant with an Indian twist! Suraj arrived to the wedding in a gorgeous old fashioned Cadillac from Albemarle Limousine. His barat consisted of his family and friends dancing with the UVA Bhangra Team as they processed into Pippin Hill. It was so fun getting to see the UVA Bhangra Team perform as they were so passionate throughout their routine!

We loved Susan & Suraj’s Indian fusion ceremony with officiants from both Christian and Hindu religions! Their wedding ceremony took place under the mandap which was built to represent the larger universe as well as Susan and Suraj’s future home. The four pillars signified the four parents and their roles in raising the bride and groom. The open sides demonstrated that their home and hearts were open to their families, friends, and larger community. The flowers signified beauty and joy. Susan and Suraj had a Saptapadi which stands for seven steps and blessings. During the ceremony they tied their wedding shawls together to represent their bond. We love the ritual of the seven blessings, where they took their first steps together around a sacred fire while Sri Satyanarayan chanted seven sacred blessings. This was the most important part of their wedding ceremony and equivalents the reciting of the vows in western tradition.

During the course of the evening Suraj surprised Susan at their wedding reception and sang her a lovely song. A fun fact; Suraj won Charlottesville’s “The Voice” competition in 2017! To say the least everyone was were really impressed! We love being an Indian Fusion wedding photographer, and it was such a joy to be a part of such a wonderful wedding day!
