Winter Wedding Photography | Early Mountain Vineyards

As wedding photographers, a majority of our clients marry during peak wedding season, which extends from the spring to fall seasons. We can understand why: it’s warm, flowers are in bloom, and it’s the perfect opportunity for an outdoor wedding ceremony. But, there’s something about winter weddings and winter wedding photography that excites us! Winter weddings give us that warm and cozy feeling, and they can be equally as romantic! Plus, there are major advantages when it comes to having a winter wedding in Charlottesville: better availability and rates; having a unique wedding, as not many couples opt to marry in the winter; and there’s the possibility to capture some magical, snowy wedding photos!

We were so excited to kick off this year’s wedding season at Early Mountain Vineyards! Laura and Jonathan’s January wedding was a winter bride’s dream! The touches of evergreen branches and holly berries in Laura’s bridal bouquet; the potted evergreen plants which were used as a seating chart; gold table centerpiece lettering; and the cozy winter wraps Laura and her bridesmaids wore were some of our favorite winter wedding details! And, we can never get enough of the stunning fireplace at Early Mountain Vineyards. We are always amazed by this beautiful event space and how it’s quickly transformed from a wedding ceremony to a reception!

Aside from Laura and Jonathan’s gorgeous winter wedding details, there was a really funny wedding moment that we have to share. Jonathan’s best man had the hilariously brilliant idea to surprise Jonathan with a best man first look! So, his best men slowly walked up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder. As Jonathan turned around expecting to see his beautiful bride, he was surprised by his best man who was wearing a flower girl dress! Everyone was laughing! Even funnier, we came to find out later the best man thought he had purchased a second hand wedding dress, not realizing it was a flower girl dress!
