Winery Wedding in the Mountains

Julie & Will’s winery wedding in the mountains was everything you would expect from this fun-loving and adventurous couple! It was obvious from the point we met Julie & Will that Veritas Vineyards was the perfect wedding venue for them as it incorporated their love for wine and the outdoors, with the beautiful lush green vineyards (plus amazing wine), and the gorgeous panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains! Not to mention that amazing and elegant ballroom!

We love every opportunity to use our drone to capture some pre-ceremony aerial photos at each wedding venue we photograph, and it is truly perfect for Veritas Vineyards, as you see how massive and spread out the vineyards are amongst the gorgeous mountain side. The soft hues of the surrounding foothills complimented Julie & Will’s beautiful light blue and blush wedding florals designed by Urban Flora. Of course when you talk about wedding inspiration you have to talk about Julie’s alternating navy blue and floral bridesmaids dresses, which were to die for and some of the most unique bridesmaid dress combinations we’ve seen!

There were so many wedding photography elements that we loved about this vineyard wedding, including some precious behind-the-scenes moments of Julie & Will’s darling flower girls peaking through the window before the wedding ceremony. We also loved that Will requested a special photo with his groomsmen in the wine cellar, which turned out as an epic wedding photo! We always try to come up with an idea or two for an epic wedding photo at every wedding, and we saved a special idea for Julie and Will knowing they would be up for about anything we asked!

A lot of couples know one of our specialties is night photography at weddings, so when Julie & Will expressed an interest in having a night photo, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to do something special! I love Champagne, but hate to waste it, however I’ve always wanted to shake up a bottle to see it spray everywhere (like you see when a baseball team wins the world series)! Julie and Will were totally game when I told them this idea, and the picture turned out better then I could have ever dreamed, becoming one of my favorite epic wedding photos (be sure to scroll all the way down to see it)!
