Tip #1 Coordinating vs. Matching
Move away from being overly “matchy” when choosing outfits for your family. Instead, choose a color palette that you enjoy and build outfits that compliment each other based around those colors. This allows your family to showcase their individuality while still coordinating to ensure the best family photo!

Tip #2 Functional and Fashionable
Choose clothes that are fashionable and functional. Kids need to be free to move around during the portrait session so clothing that is too formal can end up being frustrating. Kids will be kids and we want to allow for lots of fun, giggles and big smiles!

Tip #3 Props
Bring along some favorite toys or props like kites, wagons, or a teddy bear to incorporate into your session. These will mark this special time in your child’s life and can help put your kids at ease while they are being photographed. Plus, it allows you as parents to be creative and can add to the fun of planning your session!

Tip #4 Pop of Color
Add a pop of color to your outfit and your pictures are sure to stand out in the best way! A bright colored jacket, headband or pair of shoes are a great and easy way to do this!
