Donna and Amit’s Indian Wedding in Maryland at the Governor Calvert House was a stunning celebration! Thanks to the amazing decorating by Yaadein Weddings everything came alive with vibrant colors and rich cultural traditions to make this a unique and beautiful experience. The happy couple chose to have both a traditional and Hindu ceremony to incorporate their different backgrounds (see part 1 for pictures from their traditional ceremony).
It is always fun to be a part of different types of ceremonies and Aaron and guest photographer Matt Ryb, had a wonderful time photographing. You’ll see some special traditions in the pictures including the exchanging of garlands (Jaimala) symbolizing the couple accepting one another and respecting each other as equal partners. You’ll also notice Donna throwing rice (known as the Vidaai Ceremony) towards the end of the ceremony which symbolizes her leaving her parents home and “repaying” them for caring for her. After the ceremony, the evening continued with lots of celebrating and of course, dancing! Enjoy getting a peek into Donna and Amit’s wedding day!
