Charlottesville Weekday Elopement | Virginia Elopement Photographers

We’ve had the pleasure of photographing so many beautiful micro weddings and elopements in the Virginia area over the years! Covid of course has brought on a rise in popularity of elopements and intimate wedding affairs instead of the traditional big wedding. I think the term micro wedding, was even coined during the Pandemic! One of the most popular local micro wedding venues in Charlottesville is Albemarle Estate at Trump Winery. From the pictures below it’s obvious to see why it is such a popular destination wedding venue, as every part of the property is spectacular and gorgeous! A photographers dream wedding venue, especially for a Charlottesville weekday elopement like Mel & DJ had this past November!

We love Mel & DJ, they are two of the nicest people! You may recognize DJ if you follow major league baseball as he is a pitcher, who played for the Colorado Rockies and recently signed with the Cleveland Indians. This beautiful couple were actually married a few years ago, as they eloped before one of DJ’s games. Like we’ve seen with many couples recently, that while they were already married, they still wanted to celebrate and have a beautiful wedding day full of memories and wonderful pictures! We were thrilled when they asked us photograph this special moment for them, as they finally got to celebrate their marriage with an intimate wedding ceremony after waiting three long years!

Mel looked stunning in her amazing wedding dress walking down the grand staircase at Albemarle Estate, and certainly took DJ’s breath away as he saw her for the first time. The pictures in the entrance hallway to Albemarle Estate are some of my favorites, with the reflections in the mirrors! Another amazing moment was right before Mel walked down the aisle of the Chapel, she pause for a moment outside, and it was picture perfect as the light shined down on her and the chapel! There were so many great pictures, it is hard to count favorites, but I know they certainly loved getting to shake up a bottle of champagne at the end of the night, which made for an amazing night wedding picture!
