Alexandra & Whitson’s DC Area Wedding

We always love to opportunity to travel fun places to photograph our couple’s special day, and going to DC and Maryland for Alexandra & Whitson’s wedding was no exception! We had the opportunity to spend two days photographing them, first at their rehearsal dinner at the amazing Hay-Adams hotel in Washington, DC, and then their wedding the next day at the Chevy Chase Club in Maryland!

The Hay-Adams hotel has one of the best views in the city as it overlooks the White House, the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial. It was a beautiful spot to photograph Alex & Whit with some of their closest friends and family!

The Chevy Chase Club was beautifully decorated and covered with lush greenery which made Alex & Whit’s wedding day look like something out of a fairytale. We adored their beautiful flower arrangements and archway by Amaryllis at the ceremony. With rain in the forecast, we loved that they chose to still have their ceremony outside! It was very eventful, especially when the thunder warning sirens went off right after the ceremony began (which quickly became our fastest ceremony to-date)! We were secretly excited when the rain came, as we had on loan an umbrella that once belonged to the Duchess Kate Middleton, so needless to say we made a grand affair of it!

The reception was tons of fun thanks to the boisterous music of Attraction, who always knows how to get everyone on the dance floor. Cake cutting continued the evenings excitement when Alex decided Whit’s nose needed some frosting … it was very cute! The night finished with a sparker departure to an amazing 1952 Bentley!
